I love the Evoque, didn’t think I would but now I am sure.

The Range Rover Evoque has now been awarded World Design Car of the Year 2012. It was announced at the 2012 New York International Auto Show and now with over 101 Awards Worldwide it seems everyone loves the Evoque.

It wasn’t the groundbreaking design that drew me in, it wasnt Victoira Beckham helping on the styling. It was my first drive, the quiet poised manor it drives, the luxury feel, the textures… after that the whole concept of the car, driving it on and off road fits perfectly. Range Rover with the Evoque has created a new segment to the SUV lifestyle market and it is spreading fast. All we need now is a convertible.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover Design Director said: “Range Rover Evoque has been named 2012 World Design Car of the Year. This prestigious accolade recognises the overwhelmingly positive response that we have received to the Evoque’s bold and dramatic design. It is a car that truly resonates on an emotional level.”

To win this latest award the Evoque was shortlisted from an original 46 nominations and beat off stiff competition from the two other finalists – the Citroen DS5 and the Volkswagen Up!. The awards panel of five renowned world design experts shortlisted the Evoque. It was then voted on by each of the 66 World Car Jurors. The jurors are all highly respected, top-level automotive journalists and come from 25 separate countries.
