Indian Summer lovers it’s time to get that classic out and hit the road.
Classic Car Weekly is urging owners to ‘Drive Your Classic To Work’ week to raise awareness of the classic car movement in the UK. Get your classic pride and joy out of the garage and hit the road.
Starting on Saturday 8th to Sunday 16th September, they are urging owners to drive their classic car for more than just a Sunday drive and use it for an everyday journey such as going to work, to the shops and even collecting the children from school.
Classic Car Weekly Editor Dave Richards explains: “I can’t wait! Drive Your Classic to Work week is a celebration of classic driving. Plus it’s an awareness-raiser for everyone in the classic movement to join in with and show solidarity of our classic-driving freedoms.
“There’s nothing better than heading down the Queen’s Highway with a little bit of sunlight glinting off the chrome, wind in my hair, and feeling alive at the wheel. And you don’t even have to be going to work. Shopping trips and heading out just for fun are also allowed on Drive Your Classic to Work week.”
Last year’s initiative resulted in thousands of classics taking to the roads as classic motoring clubs encouraged members to get involved. And the timing of this year’s week couldn’t be more perfect as Drive Your Classic to Work week begins with the Classic Car Weekly team at Chris Evans’ CarFest North before heading south to the Goodwood Revival, a truly spectacular celebration of classic motoring and vintage life.
