The ‘Grand Prix’ Design award and the ‘iF Product design Award’ this time for the new 2014 Kia Soul.
Ahead of its first European deliveries in the Spring, the Soul is the third car in the Kia range to receive one of the prestigious IF product Design Awards. The Optima Saloon and the highly successful Kia Sportage have received them previously.
The cult urban crossover, goes on sale in the UK in April. With its distinctive design the Soul has a real following around the globe. More than 760,00 of the first models were sold. the new model will also bring the possibility of a new electric Soul.
In the seven years, since Peter Schreyer first became Chief of Design for Kia, he has coordinated styling studios in Korea, America and Europe, and succeeded in transforming Kia’s design and making it desirable. The remarkable evolution of product design at the South Korean automotive giant is linked to Peter’s commitment and know-how which makes him one of the few well-known protagonists in contemporary automotive design.Jean-Michel Wilmotte, President of the 2014 awards jury
