Super Stylish PEUGEOT 308 has already exceeded 60,000 orders across Europe
The new 308 has recently been voted 2014 European Car of the Year. The range is being extended soon with the 308 SW estate, which goes on sale in June
To cope with the high demand for the new 308 and to support the launch of the new 308 SW, PEUGEOT have announced that it will introduce a night shift from June 2014. To enable this, 600 jobs are being created.
The car was only launched in the Autumn of 2013 in Europe and January 2014 in the UK. With the European Car of the Year award and the upcoming introduction of the new 308 SW, the Sochaux plant in France will soon be building a total of 1,563 units per day.
In April, a second body style will be added to the PEUGEOT 308 family with the 308 SW, a sleek, spacious estate that offers all the qualities of the hatchback in terms of design, fuel efficiency and quality, along with a 660-litre boot — the largest in its segment.
Available in a choice of four petrol and five diesel versions at launch, all with particularly fuel-efficient characteristics, the 308 SW will also be offered with the brand new three-cylinder Turbo PureTech petrol engine (1.2-litre e-THP 130bhp) and three BlueHDi powertrains, including the new 1.6-litre 120bhp BlueHDi that delivers the lowest CO2 emissions in the segment at just 82g/km.
