2011 has continued to be a successful sales year for Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo in the UK. According to the SMMT’s latest new car registration statistics, the marque recorded a year-to–date market share increase of 65.07%, over 70% above the industry average, when compared to July 2010 year-to-date figures.
For month-on-month comparison, Alfa Romeo recorded a positive market growth of 34.76% in July 2011 versus July 2010, in contrast to the market share average which saw manufacturer volumes decrease by 3.53%.
Slower economic growth and subdued consumer confidence has resulted in a consumer sales decrease, however it would seem confidence in Alfa Romeo has in fact grown, thanks in part to the introduction of the Alfa Giulietta – the safest car in its segment, along with a Top Ten positioning in the independently conducted J.D. Power and Associates 2011 UK Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study (VOSS).
Consumer confidence in the marque has been supported by a new ‘peace of mind’ package, that now extends to all new Alfa Giulietta and Alfa MiTo customers, and includes, in addition to a three year unlimited mileage manufacturer warranty and 3 years AA cover, up to five years or 50,000 miles complimentary servicing.
