The Citroen C4 Picasso just launched in July, scoops its first award and its green
The New C4 Picasso has been named ‘Best MPV’ at the 2013 Next Green Car Awards.
Sophisticated, practical and environmentally-considerate, the new model beat rivals Fiat 500L and Nissan Note to the prestigious prize, thanks to the next-generation C4 Picasso’s enhanced efficiency, which emits CO2 emissions of just 98g/km and features a class-leading fuel economy of 74mpg.
Dr Ben Lane, Managing Editor of Next Green Car said: “We are very pleased that the Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6 e-HDi is the winner of our MPV Award 2013. We have been very impressed by the new Citroen C4 Picasso which not only offers families an attractive, responsive, economical compact MPV but also should be congratulated for being the first conventionally-powered MPV to break through the 100g CO2/km barrier with the resultant efficiencies.”
The New C4 Picasso is the first production model available on PSA Peugeot Citroën’s new EMP2 platform (Efficient Modular Platform 2), combining practicality and space with comfort and performance.
Marc Raven, Communications Director for Citroën UK, said: “To win this award so soon after the New C4 Picasso’s UK launch confirms that the next-generation model has blended environmental engineering with presence and personality perfectly.”
Next Green Car uses its unique Green Car Rating to rank the most environmentally-friendly new cars to come to market, honouring the most innovative and well-designed low-emission models with its annual Awards.
The New C4 Picasso combines the latest technologies with improved aerodynamics to make family driving easy, safe and enjoyable. The award-winning e-HDi 90 Airdream ETG6 is available from £20,155.00.
