I’m feeling that French thing. A limited edition chic DS 3.
Lisa Richardson-Humphrey feels a touch more elegant in the superchic DS 3 Inés del la Fressange
It jumped out at me immediately from the car crowd. In a very shallow sense perhaps it was partly because it totally complimented my new bright orange Dior nail varnish and lipstick that day but also because it was so incredibly stylish and sparkly.
The limited edition bodywork is dark, ink blue, with a white opal roof, granite blue leather interior, Xenon headlights and 3d led lights at the rear. The car is finished with touches of Inés red on the mirrors and dash, blue, white and red striping and stitching around the cars and a playful Inés de la Fressange golden fawn signature logo. Buyers of the car also receive a limited edition Voyageur clutch bag from the Inés de la Fressange fashion house.
This limited edition Inés De La Fressange DS 3 is one of the new DS range, a premium brand from the PSA group, only 200 of this model will be built. If you are anything like me sometimes when you think of celebrity endorsed products it can put your teeth on edge due to the tacky factor! But this is an elegant and classy collaboration bringing together the best of the fashion and car design worlds. DS automobiles, over the years have always been a pioneer in the collaboration between design, art and their cars.
“I saw a lot of haute couture all my childhood, and without knowing it, I’ve learned from when I was a child to recognise beautiful fabrics.”
One of the International best dressed, Inés De La Fressange is a French model, an aristocrat, fashion designer, perfumer and all round style icon. She was the first model to sign an exclusive modelling contract with the Haute Couture fashion house Chanel in 1983. She became Karl Lagerfields muse due to her striking resemblance to the brand’s founder Coco Channel. When asked Inés says her style is ‘casual, mixed and boyish’ and you see that throughout the design of this car and the attention to detail.
I had this car for a week and just absolutely loved it. I didn’t want to give it back. It’s a ladies car, chic and neat. It’s a statement car and really suits town driving. It was an ideal car to drive around Bournemouth as it had a great carefree nipping around town vibe. It appealed to me as a creative and I have to say that I am now a complete fan. Driving this car says I recognise quality and I’m a European – regardless ‘Brexit’.
The stylish French chic suited me down to the ground. It offered personalisation without needing to think about it. Driving becomes such a pleasure when you can experience this level of quality design and looks.
The cars elegance and finish is superb like Inés De La Fressange herself. You need to think about what to wear- as it makes you want to complement the interior and dress to impress!
Massive feelgood factor, it made me feel great, the cheery coloured dash was quite refreshing on a dull summers day. It’s light and easy to drive, I enjoyed the automatic transmission and particularly liked the stop start aspect when nipping about town. Front and rear parking cameras are a worthwhile option and the Apple carplay worked seamlessly with my phone.
After experiencing this car, I am now considering how I can become more Parisian myself so will have to a get a copy of ‘Parisian Chic: A Style Guide.’
