A Jaguar XF 2.2-litre diesel departed New York City with the aim of driving to LA, in seven days – The road trip crossing over 2,800 miles and 11 states. The Drive began at 13:15 GMT on the 7th November 2011.

GPS has been fitted to the car to allowing the road trip to be interactive – You can see daily updates XF as it travels from coast to coast, its average speed and economy can be tracked on Facebook or Twitter (#XFCoast2Coast). Images are being posted along the trip.
The Jag was a strictly standard car and is the First Diesel Jaguar in the USA. Earlier in the year an XF 2.2 was driven from the Jaguar factory at Castle Bromwich to Munich – using just on tank of diesel the car returned 57mpg and covered 816 miles.
The project testing the capabilities of the XF and despite being the most fuel efficient Jaguar ever created, the XF 2.2 produces 190 PS and 332 lbs ft of torque. Enabling the XF to accelerate zero to 60 mph in just 8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 140 mph. Emissions for the XF 2.2 are just 149 g/km of CO2.
