The latest model upgrade of the Ferrari California is to be released at The Geneva Motor Show, The production has already begun. The new model offers a 30kg weight reduction and a 30 CV increase in power output.
The car named the Ferrari California GDI V8 now delivers 490 hp with increased torque of 505 Nm at 5,000 rpm. New exhaust manifolds and engine mapping had been developed. The torque curve has also been tuned and is improved throughout.
The Scaglietti Centre of Excellence have used cutting-edge aluminium fabrication techniques and construction technologies in the manufacture of the Ferrari California’s chassis. This has led to an overall 30kg reduction in the car’s weight with no reduction in structural rigidity and performance.
The Ferrari’s California’s performance as expected has been improved giving a fantastic 0-100 km/acceleration time to 3.8 seconds. The cars sporty feel and its universal acclaim for performance and exceptional versatility is enhanced. The new features combine to underline the California’s sporty prowess without affecting its GT high-performance grand touring vocation – key to the Ferrari California DNA.
To further enhance the driving experience for the discerning buyer an optional Handling Speciale package is available. These modifications to the suspension set-up minimise body roll and make the car even more responsive.
The Handling Speciale package includes Magnetorheological dampers controlled by an even faster ECU (-50% response time) running patented Ferrari software. The package also features stiffer springs for more precise body control combined with a comfortable ride. Lastly, the California benefits from faster turn-in with smaller steering wheel angles thanks to a new steering box with a 10 per cent quicker steering ratio.
There is now a more extensive choice of colours developed by the Ferrari Styling Centre, including two-tone finishes, three-layer paint technology and modern re-interpretations of classic colour schemes which increase the exclusive personalisation possibilities even further. The Ferrari California also benefits from the free seven-year standard maintenance programme.
The first deliveries are scheduled for Europe timing for other markets vary.
