British supercar manufacturer McLaren Automotive and LEGO unveil their latest creative partnership

The McLaren P1TM was the most dynamically accomplished, technologically sophisticated, thrilling, and competent supercar of its day, and it revolutionised automotive high-performance. Weight reduction, packaging, high-speed performance, powertrain, and aerodynamics were all areas where McLaren’s advanced motorsport-based innovation made a splash with the P1TM.

Crafted to become “the best driver’s car in the world on both road and track,” the McLaren P1TM’s design and technical specs laid the perfect groundwork to achieve this objective. The incredible hypercar represents a watershed moment in the history of high-performance hybrid cars and McLaren.

The McLaren P1TM was the ideal challenge for the LEGO Technic team to recreate in 1:8 scale because of the remarkable engineering and technology that supported its performance, style, and practical design.

This brand-new 1:8-size LEGO Technic version debuted as part of the LEGO Technic Ultimate Car Concept Series has 3,893 pieces. A special serial number unlocks exclusive behind-the-scenes content. The model’s suspension, V8 piston engine, adjustable rear wing, opening dihedral doors with sophisticated mechanism, and 7-speed gearbox with 2 shifter drums provide an immersive construction experience that is true to the genuine McLaren P1TM. 

The LEGO Technic design team and McLaren Automotive worked closely together to build the model, which pays homage to the real P1TM and McLaren’s reputation for engineering excellence with its extensive use of state-of-the-art features.
