Chargemaster has been rated as one of Britain’s 100 fastest emerging private technology firms.
Coming 32nd in the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100, the electric vehicle charging infrastructure manufacturer with over 25 years of industrial expertise, has reached the landmark of installing its 10,000th public charging point, as part of a government initiative.
Further expansion is also anticipated, following capital investor, Beringea investing £3 million in the firm.
On the planned growth, Chargemaster’s founder and chief executive, David Martell, said: “We are delighted to be recognised as one of Britain’s fastest-growing tech firms for the work that we are doing to accelerate the electric vehicle market, both in the UK and more widely in Europe.”
The growth in electric charging infrastructure can’t come soon enough, as an increasing number of car makers are bringing new EV or plug-in hybrid models to market. Official forecasts predict that between five and ten percent of cars sold in the UK will be plug-in or fully electric by 2020.
Operating its own manufacturing facility at Luton Airport, Chargemaster works in partnership with leading energy providers, vehicle manufacturers, government agencies, management consultancies and blue chip companies. The firm can lay claim to supplying in excess of 20,000 charging points for electric vehicles throughout the UK and Europe.
