The latest news from Hyundai on the i20
Available in five trim levels, the New Generation i20 provides B-segment customers with exceptional levels of equipment. Kicking off the range is i20 S, priced from £10,695, featuring a high standard specification including electric front windows, remote central locking, tinted windows and RDS radio with USB. Supplementing this attractive package, the S Air benefits from the addition of Manual Air Conditioning, while the economical S Blue adds Intelligent Stop and Go (ISG) and low rolling resistance tyres. Both i20 S and i20 S Air are paired with a 1.2 litre 75ps ‘Kappa’ petrol engine, while S Blue is powered by a 1.1-litre CRDi 75ps diesel engine.
The volume selling i20 SE model gains numerous additions including 16” alloy wheels, voice activated Bluetooth®, Cruise Control with speed limiter, front fog lights, Lane Departure Warning System, rear electric windows and reversing sensors among many other features – prices start from just £12,725. Power comes from a choice of 1.2 litre 84ps or 1.4-litre 100ps petrol engines or 1.1-litre 75ps or 1.4-litre 90ps diesel engines.
Customers opting for the Premium model benefit from even more high-end features including Smartphone Docking Station, automatic dimming rearview mirror, automatic headlights and wipers, Climate control, cornering lights, LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights, projection headlamps and privacy glass. The Premium SE tops the range with equipment that includes front parking sensors, heated front seats and steering wheel and opening panoramic glass sunroof. Premium and Premium SE models share their powertrains with SE models, with the exception of the 1.1-litre 75ps diesel which is not offered in the higher trims.

Longer, lower and wider than the outgoing model, the New Generation i20 introduces a sophisticated design with elegant lines and refined details. The longer bonnet, short rear overhang and floating roof effect combined with LED running lights and LED rear light clusters give the car a dynamic presence on the road.
Inside, the New Generation i20 delivers class leading interior space thanks to a 45mm increase in the wheel base. The driver orientated cockpit is simple and intuitive while a range of interior colours create a bright and spacious ambiance. Boot space is among the best in the segment from 326 litres*.
All new comfort, convenience and technology features elevate the New Generation i20 to the top of the B-segment. A first-in-class panoramic opening glass sunroof allows light to pour into the cabin while heated front seats, heated steering wheel and climate control help ensure comfort for the driver and passengers alike. Features including automatic folding door mirrors, a variable boot floor and generous interior storage provide occupants with exceptional levels of practicality and versatility.
Smartphone users will immediately feel at home in the New Generation i20 with the new Smartphone docking station acting as a centrepiece on the all-new dashboard. Compatible with iPhone 5, 5s, 6 and a range of Samsung Galaxy devices, the Smartphone docking station empowers i20 customers to use their powerful pocket devices for navigation and entertainment. Voice activated Bluetooth, including My Music functionality which can store and play up to 1GB of music, USB/iPod and auxiliary audio-in connectivity further enhance entertainment capabilities.
An optional in-built touch screen navigation system will be available as a factory fit which includes the addition of a rear-view camera.
The New Generation i20 once again raises the bar for Hyundai Motor in terms of quality and refinement. The new model makes extensive use of Ultra High Strength Steel (42% vs 16% on the outgoing i20), increasing rigidity by 64% for improved handling and a refined driving character. The extensive use of high density sound absorption materials significantly improves NVH inside the cabin to deliver a modern premium experience for occupants.
6 airbags, Hill Start Assist Control, ABS, ESP, VSM, Emergency Stop Signal, Tyre Pressure Monitoring and other safety features ensure a high level of safety – all as standard. When combined with driver orientated features such as Lane Departure Warning, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Cruise Control with Speed Limiter and Static Cornering Lights, New Generation i20 delivers premium levels of occupant safety usually found in cars the class above.
