All models of Qashqai now return a more driver oriented feeling in the cabin with the newly styled steering wheel, taking design cues from Nissan’s newest models, cleaner, simpler and better overall. The air vents and interior handles have been updated with more tactile materials combined with other premium touches around the car. (NVH), noise vibration and harshness are improved significantly with more sound insulation in the doors, and behind the wheel arches, the rear door glass is also now thicker. The 1.6 diesel engine has also had improvements to calibration to reduce engine noise.

One touch power windows, now feature on all 4-doors with the ability to cool the cabin with all windows being able to be opened via the key fob.

The seats in the N-Connecta grade and above have been re-designed and now have an extended base and more bolstering. , now being slightly slimmer and increasing legroom in the rear.

Many of the enhancements on the New Qashqai have come from customer feedback. DAB radio is standard and models with the Nissan Connect touch screen now feature a more app like interface. A shark fin roof antenna is also fitted for better looks and reception.

This five-seater crossover offers, clever storage solutions with a flexible load space with a carrying capacity of 430 litres increasing to 1598 litres when the 60:40 split seats are folded. The boot also offers an innovative luggage board system which allows for dividing the boot into any one of 18 different layouts.

With a choice of three sound systems, the best sound ever in a Qashqai is now available with the new 8-speaker Bose system.

On the outside, the front has been enhanced with an integrated new front bumper with more premium plastics and horizontal finishers. The front fog lights are now lower and more integrated. Finishing it off is Nissan’s latest V-Motion grill with the New Nissan badge. Some models have an entirely flat finish. The badge now forms part of the radar for the intelligent emergency braking system.

New headlight clusters and rear lights, halogen or full Leds bring a more contemporary look. The models with LEDs are also equipped with adaptive front lighting and active high beam assist. A range of new alloy wheel designs are available and the rear bumper finishes off the sporty look with two silver satin inserts in the lower apron.

It remains to be seen whether Nissan have done enough with the New Qashqai in this most aggressive market segment, with many competitors. The many fans of the Qashqai will not be disappointed, after our days spent in the car the Ultimate Urban Crossover is worth a look.
