Six more dealers join the Nissan LEAF network. The New dealerships will be first in the UK to install new smaller quick chargersand will offer Dedicated Relationship Managers to assist customers.
Nissan has added another six locations to the network of dealerships equipped to sell and service the 100% electric Nissan LEAF, the reigning European Car of the Year. The dealerships have been appointed to further improve the regional coverage for LEAF customers in the UK and takes the number of Nissan EV dealers to 32.
These new dealers will be the first in the UK to install the new, smaller quick chargers, which are currently under development, in early 2012. The six dealers are already equipped with a twin-head Podpoint charging post and a 16A charging unit, meaning all EV owners can top up their charge when visiting the dealership.
All of the new EV retailers will also have a fully trained EV Relationship Manager who will act as a single point of contact at the dealership for LEAF customers. Each EVRM has been put through an intensive training programme to understand all aspects of owning and driving the 100% electric car and will be able to assist Nissan LEAF customers with any queries they may have.
The new dealerships joining the network are:
- Holdcroft Nissan, Stoke
- Macklin Motors, Glasgow
- Trenton, Hull
- WLMG, Reading
- WLMG, Mill Hill
- Wessex Garages, Bristol
Nissan LEAF will be priced at £25,990, after the £5,000 Government incentive. The price includes the battery.
The car’s AC motor develops 109PS of power and 280 Nm of torque, enough for a maximum speed of 90mph. It has a range of 110 miles on a full charge. Nissan LEAF will be built at Sunderland plant from 2013 (initial global production to come from Nissan’s Oppama facility in Japan).
* New cheaper, smaller DC quick chargers were revealed last month in Japan. They can charge the LEAF battery to 80% capacity in under 30 minutes and will be available in the UK by spring 2012.
