Being a MPV makes the Ford Tourneo Connect a direct rival to the VW Caddy and it matches that vehicle on most counts, with a boxy body shape and twin sliding doors at the rear providing quick and easy access.

The Ford Tourneo Connect falls into the MPV category, which if you regularly need to move people and their stuff around makes it a very practical used buy. Based on the VW Caddy and with the underpinnings of a Volkswagen Golf, this is a spacious mover that drives respectably too.
Although there are rivals, such as the Citroen Berlingo and Dacia Jogger, that both offer plenty of space and seating too, the Ford Tourneo Connect looks pretty cool, especially if you can find one with the Titanium trim.
However, while Ford has a good reputation for its comfort levels and tech, the Ford Tourneo Connect is a little more spartan inside. The popular SYNC 4 infotainment system is absent, but there is a decent 10-inch touchscreen, while DAB radio, sat-nav, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth make amends somewhat.
The Ford Tourneo Connect isn’t quite as rewarding to drive as many other models in the portfolio though. However, even in its 1.5-litre turbo petrol guise, the MPV goes well enough although you’ll want the 2.0-litre turbodiesel if you’re aiming for lots of longer runs with people and cargo on-board.

What’s the best used Ford Tourneo Connect model to buy?
Ford offers the Tourneo Connect in two lengths – the standard version and the longer wheelbase Grand Tourneo Connect that is 35cm (or 12-inches in old money).That extra length is important if you want to carry seven people a lot of the time as it not only means you have more boot space with seven on board, the middle row seats can also slide back to offer more knee space than in the shorter wheelbase model with its fixed position second row seats.

The 2.0-litre turbodiesel will be the engine you want if carrying seven people often as it has 122PS and more low-down pull than the 115PS 1.5-litre turbo petrol. As for a gearbox, you can pick from six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmissions with either engine option.
