The scheme was formerly called Selected for You but now comes under the SPOTiCAR network. What warranty do Jeep Approved Used cars come with?
Under the SPOTiCAR scheme all Approved Used Jeeps come with a minimum of 12 months' warranty. SPOTiCar is the name used for the Stellantis-wide Approved Used scheme (including Peugeot, Vauxhall, Fiat, Alfa and DS, among others).
Is there MOT cover with Approved Used Jeeps?
You don't get MOT cover with a Jeep Approved Used car.
Is there an inspection with Approved Used Jeeps?
All Approved Used Jeeps come with a quality and mechanical inspection prior to sale. The comprehensive multi-point check has trained technicians check safety critical items, examine the bodywork for damage, check key mechanical components and make sure the car meets the relevant pollution standards.
Do Jeep Approved Used cars come with a history check?
Jeeps on the approved used scheme have their mileage and identity verified, have no outstanding finance and have never been written-off. They're also checked to ensure any recalls have been carried out before the car's sold. If any of this proves to be incorrect, Jeep will replace the car within 30 days of purchase.
Is there an exchange policy with Approved Used Jeeps?
If there's a problem with your approved used Jeep that can't be resolved within 30 days after you have bought it, Jeep will swap the car for one of the same value.
Are there any extras included with Jeep Approved Used cars?
You also get breakdown assistance which includes roadside cover, as well as recovery, at-home cover and onward travel.
What is SPOTiCAR?
If you're searching for a new-to-you Jeep, SPOTiCAR is a good place to start. There you can buy an Approved Used Jeep online without ever having to step foot in a showroom. You can have the car delivered or book a test drive at the showroom. Jeeps on SPOTiCAR come with all the same benefits as an Approved Used car bought in person so you get a 12-month warranty, multi-point check and the rest.
If you're looking for a read-deal Jeep that can handle almost any terrain you throw at it, the Wrangler is the only way to go. Its combination of permanent four-wheel drive, knobbly tyres and heavy-duty suspension makes it almost unstoppable. The Jeep Renegade is a lot more conventional with a practical interior for its size and more affordable running costs, although the Trailhawk model can still chew through the rough stuff with surprising ease.
If you're going to buy a used Jeep, the approved used scheme is the way to go. You'll still make a sizeable saving on buying new, but you'll also get much of the peace of mind of buying a new car. That said, you will pay a premium next to other used options.
The safest Jeep on sale is the Jeep Compass, which got a five-star rating when it was crash tested by Euro NCAP in 2017. It's certainly a much better option than the Wrangler, which only achieved one star in 2018 – its rugged chassis is brilliantly tough for off-roading, but not so good at dissipating impacts.
