Audi Q7 Hero
  • New Q7 on sale now from £81,665, first deliveries in September

  • Adaptive air suspension is standard

  • 3.0 diesel power from launch, quattro all-wheel drive standard

Audi has revealed the third-generation Q7, with its seven-seat luxury SUV getting a complete overhaul for 2026. Priced from £81,665 and arriving in the UK from July, the new Q7 brings more technology, improved practicality and a more luxurious interior.

The Q7 has been a mainstay of Audi’s SUV range for more than 20 years, and the latest model continues to combine three rows of seating with the comfort and equipment expected of one of the brand’s largest cars. Seven seats are standard across the range.

Technology takes a significant step forward, with features including next-generation exterior lighting, adaptive air suspension and a 12.3-inch passenger display fitted as standard. Audi has also revised the chassis with the aim of making the Q7 more comfortable while improving its handling.

UK buyers initially get a single engine choice: a 3.0-litre V6 diesel paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive. Mild-hybrid technology allows the Q7 to run on electric power for short periods, helping reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

New Audi Q7 price and release date

The new Audi Q7 went on sale in the UK in July, with the first UK cars arriving with their new owners by September. Prices start at £81,665 for entry-level Q7 S line models, with mid-range Edition 1 priced from £88,965. Top of the range Vorsprung models start at £101,665. All come with seven seats, six of which have ISOFIX mounts, allowing the Q7 to cope with just about anything a family can throw at it.

New Audi Q7 engines, performance and fuel economy

Just one engine choice is available for the Q7 to begin with – a 299PS 3.0 diesel V6 capable of propelling the car from 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds. However, the engine features a number of electrification tweaks to boost both real-world performance and economy, which stands at a claimed 37mpg.

The first is a 24PS electric generator, which adds extra boost when driving at speed, for more effortless overtaking, and allows electric-only driving at low speeds for short distances. There’s also an electric-powered compressor that operates at all engine speeds, designed to eliminate turbo log and improve throttle response.

The Q7 can also be run on hydrotreated vegetable oil fuel, should you be able to get your hands on it. It’s produced from used cooking oil and Audi claims it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 70 to 95% compared with regular diesel.

New Audi Q7 design, interior and space

As it’s designed for family use,  the Q7's second row of seats can accommodate three ISOFIX car seats in a row. This row is also electrically adjustable, and includes a comfort entry feature, so you can power the row forwards, allowing access to the pair of rear-most seats, even with car seats fitted.

Depending on the position of the second-row seats, boot space is between 581 litres and 722 litres, or between 1,980 and 2,075 litres with the second and third-row seats folded down. A power tailgate is standard on all models, while a panoramic roof, which features nine segments that can be made opaque or clear at the touch of a button, is an option.

The exterior features a huge version of Audi’s singleframe grille, which is illuminated on top-spec cars, with high-set Matrix LED lights either side. Opt for the Digital Matrix lights and they feature the latest safety tech, including the ability to project an ice crystal onto potentially slippery surfaces, drawing the driver’s attention to the hazard. Range-topping cars also get OLED rear lights, while all models get a red light bar joining the rear lights together.

New Audi Q7 technology, equipment and infotainment

As one of Audi’s flagship models, the Q7 is packed with tech as standard. The driver gets the Audi virtual cockpit plus a mid-mounted 14.5-inch MMI touch display and 12.3-inch passenger display that can play videos, but can’t be seen by the driver when the car’s on the move.

Ambient lighting and multi-zone climate control are included, as are driver assistance systems like adaptive cruise assist, surround-view cameras and park assist plus.

Exterior lighting tech includes the addition of projectors for the indicators, which supplement the indicators with projections on the ground, making it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to see where the Q7 is heading.

A Bang & Olufsen 3D stereo is standard, but on top-spec models you're upgraded to the 4D version of the stereo. Not only does this include 22 speakers, including a pair mounted in each of the front headrests, but also actuators in the front seats that vibrate in time to music.

New Audi Q7 trim levels

Audi offers three trim levels for the Q7. The range starts with the popular S line which includes 20-inch alloys, Matrix LED headlights and ambient interior lights. Three-zone climate control and electrically adjustable heated front sport seats are also included.

Step up to Edition 1 trim and you get 22-inch alloys, black styling package, and ventilated and massaging front seats, while the second and third rows get seat heating.

Top of the range Vorsprung models have 23-inch alloys, Matrix LED lights, OLED rear lights, an illuminated front grille and rear Audi rings plus a panoramic roof. Four-zone climate control, the 22-speaker Bang & Olufsen 4D stereo and a head-up display are also included.
