Used Vauxhall Corsa-e for sale: everything you need to know
The Vauxhall Corsa topped the UK best-sellers list several times over the past few years, so it’s no surprise that you’ll find plenty of the electric Corsa-e on the used market too. It’s just as sensible in EV terms as the regular Corsa is for petrol buyers - and a good starting point for people making the move from combustion cars to EVs.
It’s not as stylish as some small electric cars of course, but it’s spacious and practical, and not everyone wants to make a statement about what they’re driving. Importantly, it gets the basics right too, with a claimed range of more than 200 miles giving it the edge over a lot of other small electric cars.
The Corsa-e is very similar under the skin to the Peugeot e-208, so you should also consider the slightly more stylish French car if you’re shopping for a Corsa. Others you might want to add to your list include the Renault Zoe, Honda E, and Fiat 500 Electric.
Should you buy a Vauxhall Corsa-e?
The Vauxhall Corsa-e plays the part of the straightforward, easy to adapt to and easy to live with EV to a tee. While some small electric cars try to wow you with their styling or features, Vauxhall has kept things simple - the Corsa-e is simply an electric version of its popular small hatchback.
Don’t mistake that as damning the Corsa-e with faint praise either, as there’s a lot to be said for something that flies under the radar a little. The Corsa is already a talented small car, and while the EV inevitably requires a few compromises, such as a smaller boot and a higher initial price tag, it also has the same spacious cabin, intuitive dashboard layout, and grown-up feel on the road.
Electric power gives it a good punch off the line too, while the all-important matter of range is covered by an official estimate of 210 miles. In reality you may not get quite that much, but on paper it’s more than a lot of similarly-sized rivals, and extra peace of mind for used buyers.
The other advantage of buying used is that buying a Corsa-e that’s just a few years old will save you many thousands over the cost of a new one. And while a brand new car will have a little more kit and goes a little further on a charge, saving a five-figure sum seems like a decent trade-off.
If you like the idea of the Corsa-e but prefer slightly more adventurous styling, then the otherwise similar Peugeot e-208 might be the perfect option. Both go further on a charge than small cars like the Honda E and MINI Electric, and slightly further than a Fiat 500 Electric, but a Renault Zoe will take you a little further still.

What’s the best used Vauxhall Corsa-e model to buy?
Given depreciation means a Corsa-e that’s just a few years old can be half the price it was when new, fill your boots. All get the same motor and battery setup, and trim lines influence pricing less than mileage, so high-spec models won’t cost you much more to buy than lower-spec ones. Vauxhall has even offered some interesting colours since the Corsa-e debuted in 2020, so there’s plenty of choice.

- Vauxhall Corsa-e: With a 136PS electric motor driving the front wheels, and a 50kWh battery pack, the Corsa-e gets from 0-62mph in 8.1 seconds, and has a combined WLTP range of 210 miles. Vauxhall says a 100kW rapid charge from 0-80% takes 30 minutes, and a full charge on a home 7kW wallbox is around 7.5 hours.
What used Vauxhall Corsa-e trim levels are available?
Vauxhall tweaked the Corsa-e range a few times, so we’ve picked 2022-2023 models to focus on here, shortly before a more significant update in 2024. Both are well equipped, being towards the top of the regular Corsa range. A fixed panoramic glass sunroof was optional, so keep an eye out for used models with this option.
- The Vauxhall Corsa-e GS Line gets 17-inch alloy wheels, sports exterior styling, climate control, a flat-bottomed leather-trimmed steering wheel, auto lights and wipers, LED headlights, cruise control, rear parking sensors, keyless start, a 7-inch multimedia display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and six-speaker audio.
- The Vauxhall Corsa-e Ultimate has a different 17-inch wheel design, chrome exterior trim elements, matrix LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry and start, heated front seats and steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, a 7-inch digital driver display cluster, and a larger 10-inch infotainment screen.

Used Vauxhall Corsa-e road tax
As a fully electric vehicle, the Vauxhall Corsa-e currently won’t cost you a penny to tax, since all EVs enjoy zero-rate VED. This is set to change from April 2025, but is unlikely to be too expensive even when a charge is introduced.
How much is it to insure a Vauxhall Corsa-e?
While a regular petrol Corsa sits in insurance group 10, the electric model will set you back rather more, thanks to group 24 and 25 ratings. Some of this can be explained by the higher trim levels offered on the Corsa-e, but electric cars tend to be more expensive to insure than petrol and diesel ones. That said, the Renault Zoe could cost you a lot less on insurance with its group 15 starting point.
