What benefits are included?
Skoda has undergone a remarkable transformation since becoming part of the Volkswagen Group in the early 1990s.
Once mocked, it's now a widely admired brand thanks to its reputation for building reliable, practical and superb-value cars. Models such as the Skoda Octavia, Karoq and Kodiaq regularly outperform rivals in reviews thanks to their excellent space, comfortable driving experience, and competitive pricing.
If you’re looking for a great deal on a Skoda, the Approved Used scheme is an excellent place to start. Not only do you get a competitively priced car, but you also benefit from a manufacturer-backed warranty, roadside assistance, and rigorous quality checks. It’s a great way to secure peace of mind without paying new-car prices.

What warranty do Skoda Approved Used cars come with?
All Approved Used Skodas are supplied with a 12-month unlimited-mileage warranty, and if the vehicle is still within its original three-year factory warranty, the cover continues seamlessly. This warranty protects you against most mechanical and electrical faults in the same way that it would if you were buyuing a brand-new car.
Is there MOT cover with Approved Used Skodas?
Yes. The Approved Used programme includes MOT test cover for the first 12 months, which means that if your car fails its MOT, Skoda will pay up to £750 towards the cost of repairs, although you'll have to pay the first £10 of any claim.
Is there an inspection with Approved Used Skodas?
All cars get a comprehensive 100-point inspection and test drive before being certified as Approved Used. The inspection covers everything from safety systems and tyres to interior fittings and the infotainment system. You'll get a written report with the car so you know exactly what’s been checked.
Do Skoda Approved Used cars come with a history check?
Yes, all cars are run through a complete history check that verifies mileage, ownership, accident status and whether there's any outstanding finance. Skoda also ensures that every car has a fully documented main-dealer service history.
Is there an exchange policy with Approved Used Skodas?
There is. If you encounter a fault or are unhappy with your purchase, for whatever reason, you can exchange the vehicle within 30 days or 1000 miles, whichever comes first. You’ll need to return the car in its original condition and can choose another car of the same value (or pay the difference for a more expensive model).
Are there any extras included with Skoda Approved Used cars?
Alongside the core warranty and inspection benefits, Skoda offers five days of complimentary insurance, roadside assistance valid across the UK and Europe, and the option of fixed-price servicing. In some cases, you could also be eligible for insurance at a fixed price for three years, depending on the model’s age and specification.
The Skoda Yeti has built up a loyal following for good reason. It’s one of the original small SUVs and combines sharp handling with off-road-inspired styling and impressive practicality. Some versions come with four-wheel drive, and all are comfortable, practical and great value on the used market. It’s not the newest model on sale, but it's still a smart buy.
There isn't really a bad Skoda. If you're looking for a small car, the Fabia is excellent, while the Scala offers a little more space. The Octavia is the go-to for families, offering loads of room and efficient engines. Need seven seats? Go for the Kodiaq. Long-distance commuter? The Superb offers limo-like comfort. And if it’s zero-emissions you’re after, the Enyaq is one of the most capable electric SUVs around.
Skoda generally performs well in customer satisfaction and reliability surveys, regularly appearing near the top of ownership polls. While some issues have been reported – such as DPF (diesel particulate filter) concerns on older diesels and occasional problems with DSG gearboxes – the majority of owners report strong reliability and low running costs. Thanks to their Volkswagen Group underpinnings, Skodas often share proven components with models from Audi, VW and SEAT, further supporting their reputation for dependability.
